This is mine and Sylis's pentominoes activity. We had to cut out the shapes to make a rectangle with the shapes. The bottom photo was our last edition to make it complete. We didn't have enough time to complete it so we tried our best and ended up with that.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Today Room 7 and the rest of the school went to Silvia Park to watch the Manaiakalani film festival for 2014. There were a lot of schools involved with the film festival. Some of the schools were Point England School, Glen Innes School, Saint Patricks School, Glen Brae, Tamaki College and of course us Panmure Bridge School. Today the people from our school who managed to make a film were Room 8x2, 4 and 5. All of these film were amazing but my favorite was made by Tamaki College who did a film called Tamaki College Science Hunger Games. My favorite movie from Panmure Bridge School was from Room 4 Duffy Saves the Day, because they show you how learning is special and why reading helps you learn. These are my favorite because their videos were funny and also help you learn new thing.

Cultural Show

Cultural Concert

Yesterday, the whole school went to watch the Juniors Cultural Show, it was their practice show. When we walked in to the hall some people from Cook Island started playing a tune. To start the show off Faitele from room 9 did the welcoming. Each class had to choose a culture to investigate through dance. The very first performance was made by the dance group, the dance group did a dance that was from Africa. Next was Room One, they did a dance about the Māori's. Room one had one thing that was Māori and that was called rakau sticks their performance was awesome. After room one was room four and they did a dance all the way from Samoa. They had awesome dresses that had Samoan patterns. That was cool. After Samoa was a Tongan dance from room 2. They did a tongan song to go with their dance called Fangai Lupe. The very last class did a dance from Cook Island. I think overall the show was awesome. My favourite performances were rooms 2 & 3 because they were trying there best and they had awesome costumes.

Netball Session

For term 3 kiwi sport it was netball. Marin, our netball coach, tought us how to do alot of things like chest pass, shooting the goal(if you want to shoot fo goal you have to put your writing hand underneath the ball and put the opposite hand on the side of the ball and then flick your rist), how to defend ourselves and how to do offence. In offence you have to pass it to the person who is free, and in defence you have to try and  stop the opposition sscoring a goal.

Kiwi Kids News Quiz

This week I got another 100%. On the quiz news I learnt that Engari means but. On the questions it was really easy because I already knew the answers.

Migration

If I could migrate anywhere in the world I would go to Australia because of their theme parks and because my aunt lives there with my cousin. They live in Sydney. I have never been out of New Zealand. If I went out of New Zealand I would be the first person in my family to go out of New Zealand(NZ).

Space Jump 2014

Space Jump 2014

Yesterday I went with Room 9 to a Storyline Show. The charecters in the show were Tye and Naomi. The show was called Space Jump. Tye and Naomi were both pretending to act as two charecters. Tye was a preffesor and a school boy. Naomi was a proffesor and a school girl that got turned into an alien. The alien was looking for fiction books, and looking for data about fiction books. They tought us something about a book. If the book is in a different language and you can't understand it ask someone who understands the book to read it to you. Tye called some people from the audience and they were Yvette(Mumma bear), Hailey(Papa bear), Sahil(Baby bear) and Ducati(Goldilocks). Everyone was laughing at Ducati because he was dressed up as a girl.  Then Johnno the school asked some more peope to come up from the audience. They had to stand in a line holding a piece of paper that said a word on it. They had to mixed up. Then the alien had to try and make those words into a sentence, and asked us if the sentence was correct. The show was AWESOME!!!

Duffy Theatre

Duffy Theatre

Today Rooms 1,2,3,4,5,7 and 8 went to the Duffy Theatre Show. The charecters in the show were Duffy, Rosie and Uncle Bingo. Duffy was the King of books at the begining and Rosie was the Queen at the end. I really liked Uncle Bingo because he was funny. Duffy loves to read and so does Rosie. At the begining Uncle Bingo did not like reading because he was a sporting guy.  Duffy didn't really like his Uncle, Duffy tried really hard to get his Uncle Bingo to read but he already knew how to read. Duffy was really embarresed. Then they made him the best book. Rosie gave him a ballerina book to take with him on the plane. He was reading it and on his game day he acted like a ballerina and got a try. Rosies book helped him read more books. While they were acting there was a message that they sent us when they were acting. It was  Read Read Read! 

My Small Moment

GAME DAY

On Saturday I woke up feeling like an All Black because it was game day for me. I was versing Eastern Suburbs. I felt excited about versing them because I had never versed them. It was Tamaki Marist Verse Eastern Suburbs. After a little warm up we had to work on our tackling.  All the parents and families from my team came to watch their child. My dad and brothers came to watch me. The first half whistle blew and the game started.

We kicked the ball and chased it as fast as we could. The opposition got the ball and ran it straight up and BOOM! they got tackled like the big bad wolf blew the straw house down. Then there half back got the ball and passed it to his team then out of nowhere one of our team intercepted the ball and ran as fast as he could. He ran and ran. Then he passed it and scored a try. He felt like he was Ben Smith from the AB’s (All Blacks). Then the half time whistle went. The coach got us into a little group and told us the things we did good and what we need work on the second half to make him proud for coaching our team. Then Eastern Suburbs kicked the ball it went as high as the Marist club. I got the ball and ran, then I dumby  passed it and sprinted it to the try line. Ollie our kicker got the conversion. Eastern Suburbs kicked it again. Manu the strongest in our team ran and ran and bumped the other  team  off. Then he  passed it and Andreas scored another try.  It was his 3rd try of the day(a hat trick.) Then the full time whistle went. We were proud of winning our third game in a row it was like winning the lotto.  We were so excited we spun round in circles a lot of times and got dizzy and fell to the ground.I felt exhausted after the game because it was one of the longest games I have had this year.

Art reflection

In Room 7 in art we have been learning how to mix colors.  We have been looking at an artist called  Ton Schulten. We had to do a draft first and then when we finished that we had to copy it onto to a bigger piece of paper and then, we had to put chalk on it . And were the chalk is  you have to put a different shade of that color.
