Sketch Notes
Today we made sketch notes about athletics, Rio De Janeiro and What happens during an Olympic ceremony. For the athletics we had to make a sketch note about what we learnt during Run Jump Throw. We learnt many many things like how to land properly in long jump, the differences between long distance races and short distance races. For the Rio De Janeiro one we had to search up the different landmarks in Rio and facts about Rio. For the Olympic ceremonies, we had to say what happens before, during and after the Olympic ceremonies

Platformer Game
Today at tech were were learning how to make our own scratch platformer game. We had to follow the instructions from Mrs Anderson's (Tamaki College) platformer game and try and make it ourselves. This game still needs a bit of improvement but I think it will be perfected soon.

Today, some members from the NZ Vodafone warriors came to visit our school. Ryan Hoffman and John Palavi. Georgia also came and visited our school. She was running the whole assembley. First we started off with a game of trivia. We were split into two teams, she then asked us some questions and the team who shouted there chant first could ask the question. After we played the game she started talking about health and well being. She also started talking about hydration and why it is important to keep hydrated. After that she talked about belonging. Were you belong. We got given examples, then we had a try ourselves. After that we talked about sleep. All of the people who answered correctly got given Spot Prizes.

Run Jump Throw
Yesterday we went to Run Jump Throw. We were learning about Long jump. As the warm up we played octopus again. I had to be a tagger and get all the people in the middle acting as octopus. After that we had a practice of long jump. After doing the practices Andy put us into groups and told us o do a jump off. I was lucky enough to go to the final jump, but unfortunately came 2nd, losing by 1 step behind Zahn.

Olympic Venues
We have been learning to consider both sides of a provocation so that we can make an informed opinion. Mrs Anderson asked us to make a DLO about olympic venues, she also asked us to think about two peoples points of views. To make an informed opinion we had to think about two points of views of what people think of our provocation. When we had done that we had to make our own point of view. My DLO shows a Olympic venue when it was first created then the Olympic venue now. On the left there is the provocation and my point of view. On the right the are two points of views.

Run Jump Throw
Today for Run Jump Throw we played a game of Octopus and learnt how to do race starters. The starter we learnt today was short distance race. We also learnt the difference between long distance and short distance races, after that we had a recap of last week. Look forward, Light feet, bent arms and cheek to cheek and high knees. For the starters we had to take one big step away from the line, when she said on your mark, we went into starting position and she also told us to "squish the bug". Squish the bug is when you move your foot so it is just behind the line, set, that is when we bend down and lift the back heel off of the ground, and go, that is when you start running. When we finished that we done a reaction challenge. We had to partner up and sit down face to face. When she said go we ran around and grabbed the cone and ran back to the middle.

Winter Learning Journey
During the holidays we were asked to complete some tasks for the Winter Learning Journey. On Friday Rachel from Auckland University came to talk about our success with the Winter Learning Journey. My favorite task was the boxing one because I can relate a lot to that topic. Everyone who participated received a certificate, but the first, second and third place people(AJ, Daniel and Nesi) received a gift bag and a certificate.
