Panmure Library Visit

On Friday LS1 and LS2 went to the Panmure Library to visit an enthusiastic man named Stig Wemyss. He is a voice artist and is the narrator for andy griffins books. He really hooked us in because he talked in a loud voice and was a confident speaker. Stig picked out people to do the awesome challenges and if you completed them you earn a prize. He was telling the funniest jokes and questions. I was chosen and i had to play a game with stig called sausage. Before me there were people going up to try the game and win a prize but they kept laughing and lost. The rules were simple, he would ask me a question and my my answers had to be sausage. No laughing and no grinning. I accepted the challenge continued on. His questions were really hard to not laugh at, but I tried my best not to laugh or grin. I finally completed the challenge and won the 39 story tree house audio. There were many more challenges and prizes to be won and everyone did them was confident. Every body had a great time at the library and went back to school after he left.

Duffy Assembly

Today we had a Duffy role model assembly. Our Duffy role model was Henry Tuipe’a. He talked about how reading came in his life and how it changed his life. He told us that reading has made him more confident in talking and in with his life. Reading has helped him go from a shy boy to a really confident man. He also told us why reading helps and why we should carry on reading. His talk really inspired us to carry on reading.

Maths

L.I: To solve word problems including addition and subtractions of decimals.
Today for maths we had to finish off our worksheet. Our worksheet that we had to finish was all about adding and subtracting decimals in word problems. The question I found the hardest was question 6 because it got me confused and frustrated. It took me a long time trying to complete the question but in the end I finally completed question 6. The questions I found the easiest were questions 7-10. I found those questions easiest because I already knew how to do them and I had a little help from Ms N and Sebastian.

Read Theory

For 20 minutes each day, our class has to read on Read Theory for 20 minutes. The first thing we had to do was read whole text. When we had done that we had to look at the question and think about which one goes best with the passage(story). We had to practise looking back at the text to find the information and then back at the questions to find the best answer. We do this so it can help us with our reading so wen the tests come we will be prepared.

Care Awards

Image result for geronimo stilton books
This is another Care award activity. This activity was all about reading. We had to read 3 novels during the term. The books I read were all from the Geronimo Stilton collection.

Care Awards

This is a DLO that I have made for our school CARE Awards. This activity was for Excellence and Innovation. We had to make a DLO about someone who has shown excellence and innovation throughout their life.

Jackie Robinson

This is a DLO that I have made of Jackie Robinson. I have made this DLO about him because I think he is a hero. He was the first African American to join the major league in baseball.

Cross Country

For cross country the seniors have a goal of reaching seven laps around the school. Before we ran we had to do some stretches. We started off with jogging on the spot, after that we were doing start jumps and more... Mr Ogilvie sent the year 5's first then 6's then 7's then 8's and then the people who wanted to represent the people in the cross country inter-school. I was 1 of the people who got timed. My time was 12 minutes. My next goal is to beat 12 minutes. Next week we are having the adidas fun run and hopefully I will be able to beat 10 minutes.
