Maths Movie

This is my Maths Movie on why maths should be learnt at school. This movie was collaboratively made by Latham, Zahn, and I. This movie is about a boy who doesn't know his maths very well, but he cheats and looks at his friends answers, so the smart and brainy friend teaches the not so brainy friend about maths.

Student leader nomination

John

Being a head student would be an Amazing privilege because it would give me bigger assets in my future and for enrolling into secondary school. I think being head boy means focusing on academics, participating in leadership event, taking care of our younger students in and out of school activities. I will also give the
teachers a helping hand. If I got elected to be head boy I would be 100% prepared and focused to take the great roll off of Julianos hands. I would also do the best that I can even if I don’t get chosen.

This is my paragraph on why I should be elected to be head boy for 2016. I have been nominated out of a lot of people. It would be an amazing achievement for me because it shows the leadership qualities that you have to show. Even for me it is a big achievement getting nominated. I also have to challenge two other students to get the role, Pote and Sebastian. These two are a hard challenge but I think I still have a chance of getting the role of being head boy.

Belonging To PBS

This is a DLO that Manu and I made. This was one o the tasks that we had to do for the year 7 and 8 CARE award challenges. We had to make an iinformation brochure on Belonging To Panmure Bridge School.

Choosing a new flag

Today for our Oral Language activity we did 4, 3, 2, 1. 4, 3, 2, 1  is an activity that we had to do to find out which flag different students in the class would pick. For 4 minutes we had to look at all the flags and choose the one that we wanted the new flag to be, For 3 minutes we had to get into pairs and tell our partner which flag we chose and why, for 2 minutes we had to find another partner and tell them the same thing, and for the last minute we had to find another pair and tell them our vote and why. We did this activity so we could hear different reasons and different things about the flag they would pick and why they chose the flag they did. Our group chose the Silver Fern(red, white and blue flag), because it shows the cultures coming together and rising upwards to the future.
Heres a question for you guys and girls: If you had to pick out of the 4 flags above which flag would you pick and why.

My Learning Journey Reflection

L.I: To reflect on personal goals set in Term 1
Dear Term 1 Me

I have had a great year, But weren’t there some ups and downs during the year like when I got opportunities to show my leadership and represent our school by presenting my learning to other visiting teachers. Those were definitely ups. Breaking my charger port was my biggest down as it has made my learning harder to get. Next year I am going to try and be a role model for our younger students. I really would like to be a student leader. This year was a great achievement for me, but I know I need to keep reading so I can understand new information. I am going to take part in the summer blogging challenge. See you next year.

The Link to the Song.
Aretha Franklin Respect
Aretha Franklin song Respect was originally recorded by Otis Redding in 1965. The song became a 1967 hit and signature song for R&B singer Aretha Fanklin. The music in the two versions is significantly different, and through a few minor changes in the lyrics, the stories told by the songs have a different flavor. But Aretha Franklins version was a formal statment from a strong and confident women.

SSW Swaping Tasks

abanound house.jpgasdfghjkl;'.jpg

Have you ever thought about the rumours people have been telling you about the abandoned house on the hill. People told me it isn’t that scary. So I went to check it for myself. As I opened the door I heard voices saying “Don’t do it”, it was creeping me out. I walked inside and saw nothing but empty paintings. I thought in my head get out get out, but the surroundings kept me in. As I was walking in I saw stairs. I tip toed up the stairs. I saw paintings of a girl, I heard more voices saying get out get out. But I told to myself to keep going and to not be afraid. So I kept tip toeing up the stairs, Finally I got to the top. I heard more voices telling me to get out now before it was was too late. But I saw this picture of a 5 year old boy, I turned around and saw another door slam shut. I went inside a room full of empty boxes. I looked in the corner of the room and I saw eyes that were looking at me. I went closer and as each step I took closer to the eye I heard voices that were it’s too late I heard the door and scary music were playing and there were stairs leading to the front door. I was so relieved but the only thing was that it wasn’t the front door.

Blurb.
Today for writing we were focusing on SSW which means Sustain Silent Writing. We had to work with someone we wouldn't usually work with. One thing I found cool about this activity was that we could work with different people.

The aim of the game was to get the least ammount of the squares left. The person who had the least ammount of squares was the winner. But there was also a time limit of 10 minutes. My partner was Tim and the ammount of squares that were left on his half was 39 and on my half there was only  16 squares left.

Elbows high and low to high watch it fly, and for Discus your grip has to be strong and like the disc is on a shelf. You know if you are holding it properly if the disc comes out when you hold it upside down, and you hold it on the top joints of you fingers. The chant for the dicus is Swing up then clap then go back after that it is chin knee toe all in a row. Low to high watch it fly and fling fast when you are at a T position.

My Boot Camp Elective

Boot camp is cool but the only thing that ruined it was when Nicola didn't arrive to the elective. The best thing about the elective for me was when we had to do agility drills. I also liked how she made her own version of duck duck goose. The part that I didn't like was nothing because it was very cool but a bit hard.

Maths

This is my maths for today. For this activity I had to get at least 7 corrects to get a trophy. I got all of them right. The hardest question for me would have been question 9 because I rushed the question and thought I got it right, but I got it wrong. When I did get it right I screenedshot it and put it on my blog.

Run Jump Throw

This morning we went to Kiwi Sport Run Jump Throw. Our instructors name was Andy. She is really cool because today she was playing some games called Skill Drills, Relays and Hurdles. After we played the games we were focusing on the starters. We were told to never look at the starter and Did you know that sprint and long distance starters are different. We were also told that for sprints we had to stand tall, look straight ahead, cheeck to cheeck, light feet, high knees and light feet.

My comment to Latham

This is my comment to Latham for his Pay It Forward task that he did for homework.

Home Learning: Pass it Forward

Last night for homework we had to Pay it forward by doing something for someone that we'd normally wouldn't do. I did mum and dad a coffee and tea and looked after my neice. Mum asked "Why are you doing it?" and I said "It is just for homework". she was suprised.

Breakfast in schools

This is my Ifaketext that I collaboratively made with Latham. The question that we got asked was Do you think NZ schools should provide breakfast for all children.

My Speech

Kia Ora Students, Teachers

I think, wait no I KNOW that NZ kiwi kids should know more about the culture of MAORI!. Maori is one of three MAIN languages of New Zealand, and Maori should be known for its language, culture  and its history.

Think about the history behind the Maori culture, Some of the Maori Chiefs. Remember the treaty of waitangi. The treaty was the founding document for NZ. It is an agreement entered into by representatives of the Crown and of Maori tribes and subtribes.

My point of view of being a maori is amazing but what if some Maori people were talking and you didn’t know what to say that is why NZ should know more about the Language.

Firstly people should know more about the maori culture so they can tell what they are saying, secondly I think that people should know more about the Maori culture so they can tell if they are saying good or bad things about you and third and finally why do we only celebrate Maori language week when there can be more things to celebrate of Maori.

More than half of the 4000 children removed from families and put into foster care were also Maori. Why is NZ changing the flag when they can help the children find shelter and food.

Why does being Maori have to be a crime? Being Maori is just like being Tongan Samoan Burmese

My point of view of being a maori is amazing but what if some Maori people were talking and you didn’t know what to say that is why NZ should know more about the Language.

How to use Speech Marks

This is a collaborative DLO that Fine, Samantha and I created to show people how to use speech marks. We included examples that are easy to understand and simple rules that need to be followed in order to use speech marks. We used PowToon to produce this presentation.
